1963 Grennaskolan was started by Kursverksamheten at Stockholms University as Sweden´s first international secondary school.
1970 Grennaskolan was introduced as a boarding school.
1978 Jönköpings municipality took over the ownership.
1996 the school was incorporated into a stock company, Grennaskolan Riksinternat AB and with that became one of the municipal stock companies in Jönköpings Rådhus AB.
Today Grennaskolan is Gränna´s biggest employer and has 60 employees and 270 students. About half the students are boarders. Today 17 different nationalities are represented at Grennaskolan.
